For the first time, investment firms across GP Stakes, GP Financing, and GP Seeding have put their mid-year perspectives in one place. This inaugural report brings together contributions from 18 firms, offering an unfiltered look at what the buyside is actually seeing, thinking, and expecting as 2026 unfolds.
We approached this report a bit differently. Rather than sending participating firms a fixed list of questions or forcing their insights into a predetermined structure, we handed them the pen. The prompt was simple: here are two blank pages — tell us the most important things you observed in the first half of the year, and the most important things you expect to see in the second half. Our view was that the most interesting insights would come from seeing what each firm chose to emphasize on its own. The result exceeded our expectations. The contributions we received are rich, quantitative, practical, and, in many cases, revealing of the themes that are top of mind for the buyside right now.
