Hi {{First name | there}},

We’re excited to announce our Succession Planning: Financial, Tax, and Legal breakout room speakers:

  • Thomas Liaudet, Partner and Global Head of GP Capital Advisory at Campbell Lutyens

  • Brian Rebhun, Managing Partner of Financial Services Tax at PwC

  • Rami Totari, Partner in Private Equity and M&A at Kirkland & Ellis

This breakout room is especially timely because succession planning is becoming a front-of-mind driver in GP Stakes transactions—offering a practical way for founders to monetize ownership as they near retirement, while signaling a sustained vision for the platform. We’ll dig into the financial, tax, and legal considerations that shape these deals, and how investors underwrite continuity—seeking clear visibility into next-generation leadership, governance, and alignment to preserve enterprise value.

For many firms, a GP Stakes deal is increasingly a succession-management tool: it can provide liquidity for retiring partners, establish a valuation for the management company, and give LPs clearer line of sight into leadership succession. Done well, it can also build an ownership culture—often using proceeds to increase next-generation ownership—strengthening incentives and retention for emerging leaders and helping institutionalize the platform beyond any single individual.
